Administration Officer

Jalygurr-Aboriginal Corporation is seeking to employee an Administration and Finance Officer. This position is casual and will be contracted for 3 to 4 to months.

This is a full time position working from the Jalygurr-Guwan Multifunctional Aboriginal Children’s Service at 2 Dora St, Broome, Western Australia.

It is essential that applicants have a:

  • Certificate III or equivalent in Business Administration
  • At least 3 years of experience in an Administration Finance role or
  • Business management experience
  • C” Class Driver’s license

 

It is essential that applicants either have, or will be eligible to secure a:

  •  Western Australian Working with Children Check
  •  Medical Clearance to work with children
  •  National Police Clearance
  •  Experience with CCS (Childcare Subsidy), ACCS (Assisted childcare Subsidy)

 

It is desirable that applicants have:

  •      a Senior First Aid Certificate
  •      Previous experience in children’s services in an administration role
  • Experience with CCS (Childcare Subsidy), ACCS (Assisted childcare Subsidy)
  •      Experience in working in rural or remote regions
  •      Experience in working in a multicultural environment
  •      Experience with the child care software XPLOR or similar
  •      Governance Experience

The role involves general administration and includes coordinating the day-to-day running of the office.  Duties are broad and typically include entering and managing the information in the software package XPLOR including invoicing for fees and producing reports, filing, preparation of invoices for authorisation, banking, mail, petty cash reconciliation, ordering, telephones and supporting the General Manager and staff as instructed.

From time to time the Administration/Finance Officer may be required to assist in the Centre.  This is a highly interactive role and requires sound customer service knowledge and skills in dealing with parents, staff and various agencies and Aboriginal communities.

It is highly desirable that applicants possess a demonstrated understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal culture, experience in working with Aboriginal people and experience in working in remote locations.
