Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised care and support to  individuals with disabilities
  • Provide services such as support to access the community on a daily basis, as well as supporting NDIS participants to travel home (if their true home is not Broome)
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility assistance
  • Administer medications and assist with medical appointments as required
  • Foster meaningful social interactions and companionship with clients
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure the well-being of clients
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of care provided
  • Helping people to set and achieve goals
  • Providing transport, attending appointments and advocating on behalf of NDIS participants and Aged Care clients
  • Arranging social activities and assisting with household tasks and activities like cleaning, meals and showering.
  • Coordinating and implementing individual care plans in accordance with NDIS and Aged Care guidelines.

 

Requirements:

  • Necessary: Access to a reliable vehicle
  • Necessary: NDIS Screening Check
  • Necessary: First Aid Certificate
  • Preferred: Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability Care, or relevant qualification
  • Preferred: Previous experience in aged care or disability support
  • Preferred: Flexible to commit to weekend, public holiday and evening/night shifts (for SIL supports)
  • Necessary: Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Necessary: Compassionate and patient demeanour
  • Necessary: Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Necessary: Willingness to undergo relevant background checks and obtain necessary clearances
