About the role    
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join the team in our Broome Workshop.

Reporting to the Workshop and Logistics Manager, the Heavy Diesel Mechanic is an integral part of KRSP’s operational team who contributes to our success by ensuring the reliable availability of KRSP’s fleet of mobile equipment.

This position is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team and contribute to a significant positive impact on the day-to-day lives of the members of communities serviced by KRSP.

Key responsibilities of the role:   

  • Complete scheduled servicing and repairs of trucks, earthmoving, and mobile plant equipment
  • Undertake preventative maintenance activities
  • Participate in fault finding and failure diagnosis as required
  • On occasions attend to emergency breakdown repairs in the field
  • Recommend initiatives to enhance efficiency and plant reliability
  • Complete necessary electronic and manual documentation

Location  
This is a permanent, residential role based at our Broome office. Local residents or candidates willing to consider relocating to Broome are encouraged to apply.

What you will need  
An ability to demonstrate a high work ethic, integrity, and safe work practices together with a positive mindset.

Essential criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Relevant trade qualification as Heavy Diesel Mechanic
  • Thorough knowledge of plant, vehicles (heavy and light) and civil earth moving equipment
  • Advanced fault finding and diagnostic ability
  • White Card
  • Current C class driver’s licence
  • National Police Clearance
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia

Desirable criteria:

  • Current Medium to Heavy Rigid (MR/HR) driver’s licence
  • First Aid
