The position

As the Director – you will lead, inspire and mentor educators to ensure the service is providing a high-quality early childhood education in a remote Aboriginal community. You are responsible for overseeing the operations of the centre, where you will support and warmly welcome children and families.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year’s experience in a managerial role or extensive 2IC experience.
  
Selection Criteria

• Organisational skills including general organising, planning, time management, scheduling, coordinating resources and meeting deadlines
• Interpersonal and communication skills
• Comply with the organisation’s code of ethics, vision (spirit), policies and procedures and to support the organisations culture
• Build successful relationships with staff, families and community
• Achieve excellence at management level in an early education and care setting
• Manage staff including staff performance, recruitment and performance appraisals
• A commitment to continuous improvement and efficiencies in service delivery
• Knowledge of relevant state and commonwealth laws and regulations

Qualifications/Requirements

• Be eligible to work in Australia and willing to relocate to Kununurra
• Diploma in early childhood/ACECQA approved equivalent or above
• A current WA Working with Children Check
• Satisfactory National Police Clearance
• A valid driver’s licence
• First Aid & CPR certificates or willing to obtain
